Basic Firefighting & Fire Prevention (1 day)

This course consists of all the latest fire prevention procedures, with lectures and films on basic firefighting techniques, instruction on the use of various firefighting media and equipment available. Followed in the afternoon by a fire drill, using hand-held firefighting applicances on real fires. Every candidate takes part using the extinguishers and fire blankets.

Where possible, the afternoon sessions also include the use of pyrotechnics, where each candidate gets to use a live flare.
